- "Look, I'm sorry about Mr. Felman. I wasn't shooting at him, but I have a right to defend my property and that freak, he was banging on my door. Weird guy came showing up saying that he had to hide from the voices coming from the dome, I said I had a gun and he still didn't leave so I fired couple of shots. That freak didn't even run off, this thing started off by killing people now it's starting to drive the rest of us crazy... you know were all going to die in here."

Ted Utley is a minor character in CBS' Under the Dome. Hardly anything is known about Ted's life before the dome came down, except that he was a resident of Chester's Mill and was a gun collector.

Season 1[]
"The Fourth Hand"[]
When Dale leaves to help Linda solve a problem, he arrives to see Mr. Felman on the ground, shot. Linda tells Dale that his neighbor, Ted Utley was the one who fired the shot, and Ted soon comes out and explains that he didn't mean to shoot Mr. Felman, as he was just trying to get the freak Larry out of his house, then starts to say that the dome is going to kill us all. Later while the towns guns are being collected, Dres Johnson tells Big Jim that Ted said that if anyone wanted his guns, they'll have to kill him for it. Concerned, Big Jim goes with Dale to Ted's house. When the arrive, a Ted shoots a rifle at the windscreen, and Big Jim tells Dale to cover him. Big Jim finds Ted in his room, where he reveals a grenade, saying that he can't live after the dome killed his family. Big Jim tries to talk him through his problems, but Ted pulls the pin of the grenade, but Big Jim grabs the grenade and puts the pin back into it. He helps Ted out of his house, then takes him to the town hospital.
